Temporary well shut down--why?

    Hi, I asked this question in the Texas forum also but wanted to hear what everyone had to say.
    • I have noticed when looking at the production reports for wells in the same field as mine that there are periods of about 6 months during which there is no production and then the well starts up again.  Why does this happen?  Is the shut down for maintenance?
