A PC is required

Bring a Windows or Mac computer with the desktop version of Microsoft Excel installed and ready to use. iPads and tablet versions of Excel are not covered in this class.

Bring your charger. Download the pre-class spreadsheet before you arrive and open it in desktop Excel on your PC. Registered participants will receive the Google Drive link in their registration confirmation and class reminders.

What you will practice

• Calculate royalty interests, tract participation factors and net mineral acres.
• Work with gross working interest (GWI) and net revenue interest (NRI).
• Explore allocation well calculations, PivotTables and Power Query workflows.
• Build confidence reviewing Division Orders and asking informed questions about ownership decimals.

Meet Melanie Finnegan, CDOA

Melanie is Manager of Land Business Systems at Comstock Resources in Frisco, Texas. She began her oil and gas career in 2006 and has worked at Comstock since 2008, including facilitating data transfers for acquisitions and divestitures.

An active DALWORTH member since 2009 and its 2018 president, Melanie has presented at DALWORTH, DFW-ALTA and NADOA events. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biophysics from Centenary College.
