Oilfield Bankruptcies, What The Royalty Owner Needs To Know - Member Registration

Clinton Butler will moderate a panel discussion between attorneys, Robert Park and Ross Spence, regarding the rise in bankruptcies being filed by operators in the oil and gas industry. The discussion will focus on what royalty owners need to do in order to protect their assets and to ensure there is little to no interruption in their royalty income and what to do in the event things go really south with the operator’s bankruptcy proceedings.

Ross Spence has a broad, mostly business bankruptcy, business litigation, and business transactional practice. He has appeared in courts all over the country. Ross has had numerous trials regarding a broad range of issues and industries, including bankruptcy issues, oil and gas, real estate, leases, construction, lending, contract disputes, usury, fraudulent transfers, director and officer liability, drilling, liens, insurance, trademark infringement, notes, deceptive trade practices, environmental issues, stock fraud, toxic tort, non-compete agreements, collections, nondischargeability claims, legal and accounting malpractice, failed thrift litigation, regulatory, restrictive covenants, and other, primarily commercial, cases. Ross is Board Certified in both Business Bankruptcy Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ross has served as Chairman of the Houston Bar Association Litigation Section and Fee Dispute Committee. Ross received his law degree from the University of Texas (Cum Laude, 1986), and his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia (B.A., Cum Laude, 1982).
