    Foundations of Mineral Ownership is a beginner-friendly course designed for those who are new to minerals or looking to build a strong foundation in mineral management. Led by community leaders from your local chapter, this 3-hour educational session is followed by Q&A and takes place just before the convention begins.

    What You’ll Learn
    • Basic property law
    • General order of events in mineral ownership: leasing, drilling, production, division orders, and revenues
    • Basic explanation of oil and gas operations
    • Types of ownership
    • Decimal / NRI calculations
    • Data management

    NARO members who are not currently enrolled in the Mineral Management Program (MMP) may attend this class after paying the class fee. This fee covers only this class and is separate from the main Convention registration or Mineral Management Program fees.

    The Mineral Management Review Course is an engaging four-hour session designed to reinforce and expand the knowledge gained through the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) Mineral Management Program (MMP). Offered several times throughout the year, this course provides multiple opportunities to strengthen your understanding of key mineral management concepts.

    Why Attend

    While optional within the MMP, many participants choose to attend because it offers a valuable opportunity to review essential topics, ask questions, and sharpen the skills needed to confidently manage mineral interests. Participants will receive four (4) Educational Credits (ECs) for attending. 

    Important Information
    • Course Fee: $100
    • Open to NARO members, including those not currently enrolled in the MMP (auditors welcome)
    • Pre-registration is required for all attendees
    • Auditing the course does not enroll you in the Mineral Management Program
    • Course registration is separate from any NARO Convention registration
