    The Mineral Management Review Course must have a minimum of  six registered attendees to happen.  In the event the minimum is not met, your registration will be refunded.

      

    The Mineral Management Review Course is a four (4) hour course and the fee is $75. The course is offered multiple times during the year to individuals participating in the Mineral Management Program (MMP). The Mineral Management Review Course is elective to the program, although most MMP participants choose to attend at some point.  4 Educational Credits (ECs) will be given for attendance of this course.


    The course is also available to audit for NARO Members not currently enrolled in the MMP. Those that intend to audit this course must pre-register and pay the $75 fee to attend. Auditing this Course will not enroll you in the Mineral Management program.  


    The NARO Foundation has updated their policy on the Review Course Manual.  The manual no longer is included with the price of the course, and must be purchased separately from the NARO Store. You can call the national office to purchase one over the phone, 918-794-1660.  The manual is not required for the course, but is a workbook format that is used during the class and contains practice exams that are worked on in class.

    Do Bring:

    • A calculator. Many Exam questions will require it and calculators are NOT provided.
    • Two sharp pencils and scratch paper. There will likely be some on hand, but I wouldn't risk not having any, and you shouldn't either.

    You will be asked to put away:

    • Cell phones/tablets/laptops. I cannot stress this enough. You may not use your cell phone or tablet as a calculator. You may NOT have your cell phone or tablet out during Exams. Noncompliance will result in being asked to leave the Exam and your candidacy as an RMM will be reviewed. No exceptions.
    • Study resources. This is a CLOSED book Exam. You are not permitted to have anything other than a calculator, scratch paper and your Exam out.

    Exam time allotted - 1 1/2 hours = 90 Minutes

    Mineral Management 101 is a 3 hour course taught prior to the start of the convention.


    If you are new to mineral management, NARO or want to sharpen up on the basics, this is a great place to start.  

    In this course you can expect to learn about:

    1. Basic property law
    2. General order of events in mineral ownership (leasing, drilling, production, division orders, revenues)
    3. Basic explanation of oil and gas operations
    4. Types of ownership
    5. Decimal/NRI Calculations
    6. Data management


    PLEASE NOTE: This registration does NOT include a convention registration. Mineral Management 101 is a Pre-Convention Course.
