To our highly valued members and our potential new members - WELCOME to the New York State Chapter blog. While we all know that New York banned high volume hydrofracking (HVHF), that does not mean there is nothing going on in New York. There are more than 14,000 oil and gas wells actively producing in the state right now. An average of forty new permits (mostly for oil) have been issued for each of the last three years. We know there must be many landowners out there with questions - about their lease, their royalty checks, or worse, lack of checks when there is known production. If you have any questions at all, please take advantage of our new blog. If you have a question, chances are excellent many others have the same question.
